Connect to your voice, your story and a creative community
“bell hooks reminds us in Teaching to Transgress that education, at its best, is rooted in liberation and love. This is the pedagogy I return to again and again in my facilitation: writing as a way of stepping into our stories and our voices, but also as a practice of community—of building relationships sustained by care and reciprocity.” — Preeti

Detailed Descriptions
Find Your Flow: A Monthly Drop-in Writing Workshop
Connect with your voice, your stories and a fantastic community of writers! All are welcome. Sign up for one or multiple sessions.
-
In these 90 minute online sessions, you'll enter a facilitated space where you're invited to write with the support of prompts, techniques and strategies to dive deeper into your stories, your ideas and your voice. There will be opportunities to share your work, but never any obligations. If you're looking to exercise your creativity, great! If you don’t identify as a creative person, this is still the right place for you! Writers of all levels are welcome, but there are only 10 spots per session, so the sooner you sign up, the better (they all sold out in 2025)!
All workshops integrate grounding and mindfulness techniques. We begin with introductions and agreements, move into freewriting, and then ground ourselves before diving into a structured writing exercise with specific prompts. As a facilitator, Preeti strives to centre your agency (i.e. you are never required to follow the prompt, perform the exercise or share your work, but will always be invited to listen to your body and make a decision that’s best for you).
Our Stories, Our Voices: Creative Writing Program
A 6-week writing program for anyone who wants to build community, exercise their creativity and write! All levels welcome.
-
Imagine having time each week to step deeper into your voice, your creativity and your stories with support and in community. Our Stories, Our Voices is a 6-week workshop designed to help you develop different techniques to find your flow and express your ideas. This program usually runs 3 times/year and space is limited! Only 10 spots/program.
Features include:
Weekly facilitated sessions with guided exercises (2 hours)
A 20-minute one-on-one consultation for tailored feedback
A final session where participants can share their work in a collective reading
This program will help you:
generate new work
develop and/or maintain a consistent writing practice
build community with other writers
strengthen your relationship to your creativity
step deeper into your voice
honour your lived experiences
enhance your sensory and critical lenses
develop a toolkit of techniques that support your creative practice
express your inner world, desires, needs and complexity
uncover new ideas and exercise your imagination
reduce stress and develop body awareness
learn more about your stories and what you want to write
reinvigorate a current writing practice by discovering new entry points, inspirations, or pathways through creative blocks
What to expect:
Each week, you will enter a facilitated space with community agreements, invitations to write and opportunities to share your work. Sessions will focus on creative writing, and also include experiential and mindfulness activities, as well as exercises that help you find your flow and step into the creative part of your brain. Participants will be invited to respond directly to a prompt during freewriting exercises. Later, we will read a piece of writing together and draw inspiration from that source, alongside optional prompts.
At the end of each session, you will have a piece of writing that you can keep working on or choose to tuck away. While there is no "homework," you will be given optional prompts between each session as part of developing your writing practice. As a facilitator, Preeti strives to centre your agency (i.e. you are never required to follow the prompt, perform the exercise or share your work, but will always be invited to listen to your body and make a decision that’s best for you).
The final workshop is an in-session reading. Prior to the reading, you will have the opportunity to meet with Preeti for a 20-minute 1-on-1 Zoom session to discuss a specific piece of writing, craft, next steps, or a selected reading.
What this workshop isn’t:
Please note, this is not a weekly writing “class” where you edit and workshop pieces, but rather a place where you explore and express your experiences and feelings, or fictional stories, through writing. This is a generative writing series. The goal is not production and publication, but rather process, introspection and creation. Having said that, the 1-on-1 session can be used to discuss edits and publication! And many past participants have gone on to publish or keep working on their memoirs, poetry collections, children's books, etc. And for writers who want to work on editing, shaping and craft, check out Our Stories, Our Voices — Revision Lab (below)!
Cost: $325-500 USD Sliding Scale (Fair Value $450 USD). CAD rates available on request.
Our Stories, Our Voices: Revision Lab (coming soon!)
Focused revision with support in community.

OSOV Revision Lab is about returning to what you’ve already written: gathering your drafts, strengthening them and learning how to shape them into finished pieces. This series runs for four weeks with a break at the halfway point to give you space to revise, revisit and experiment with the techniques learned up until that point.
Whether you have dozens of drafts scattered across notebooks and notes apps or a small handful of pieces you’re longing to complete, this series offers the structure, tools, and community to help you move your work forward.
Each week we will look at one aspect of craft and explore one revision technique. We will also do various freewriting exercises to ensure sure we are keeping our writing muscle flexible and poised, and leaving the door open for change. This program will likely only run once in 2026.
This workshop is for writers who:struggle to know when a piece is “done”
write regularly but rarely return to edit or revise
feel unsure about where to begin with editing
have writing spread across notebooks, documents and notes that they’ve never compiled
want accountability and gentle structure to keep moving through their work
want to learn or deepen craft techniques (such as enjambment, caesura, line breaks, titling poems, organizing a poem on the page, shaping multiple drafts)
want feedback that is supportive, clear and grounded in both craft and care
want to practice revision without feeling overwhelmed or lost in their own material
This course isn’t focused on publication, but we will talk about it and your work can get closer to that stage if that’s your intention. The primary goal is helping you understand what your piece wants to be, and how to guide it there.
What this workshop includes:
4 facilitated sessions (2 hours each) with a one week break at the halfway mark (so that you have time for integration and revisions)
Craft discussions on editing, technique, voice and decision-making
In-session exercises on shaping drafts, interrogating choices, and exploring alternatives
Two optional assignments for written feedback from Preeti. Each assignment includes a first draft, your revised draft and a process paragraph (up to 300 words) describing what you tried, changed, or questioned. Assignments are submitted via Google Drive and are completely optional but a great way to build accountability and momentum.
Examples and excerpts from diverse poets and writers whose work demonstrates a range of craft techniques, approaches to revision, and ways of shaping a piece through multiple drafts
A supportive writing community to accompany you through the revision process
By the final session, you will have:
a clearer understanding of your writing process
new tools for shaping and revising poems
a more grounded sense of how to recognize when a piece is complete
a few pieces that have moved meaningfully forward

• Prompts to help you remember 2025 with intention
• Space to imagine 2026 with gentleness (not pressure)
• A supportive, creative community
• Invitations to settle into your body so you can write with clarityThese sessions are especially for folks who struggle to find time to pause during the holidays or who want a gentle, structured way to reflect and set intentions.
Format: Drop-in workshops
Focus: Reflection, intention-setting, creativity, and community
Cost: $25-50 USD Sliding Scale

Ready to geek out over craft? Craft Studio sessions are single, focused 3-hour workshops for writers who want to spend time with one specific element of poetry. Each session is built around 2–3 pre-selected poems and/or a short craft essay, giving us a shared language to think, talk and write with. Participants will move between discussion, guided exercises and hands-on writing, with space to revise an old piece or start something new.
Topics range from enjambment v. end-stopped lines, caesura (silence, rupture, breath), white space and fragmentation, syntax play, punctuation (or the refusal of it), repetition and refrain, compression v. expansion, sound and musicality, to different poetic forms such as the pantoum or duplex. Writers may have the option to submit a piece within five days of the workshop for limited, constructive feedback (via Google doc).
Format: One 3-hour workshop
Focus: One clearly defined craft element (listed on Eventbrite)
Runs: Once every few months; announced throughout the year
Cost: $50-100 USD for the course alone; option to schedule schedule a 20 minute 1-on-1 with Preeti at the end of the course at a reduced fee when the course is done.

Zoom live transcription is available for most sessions (60–80% accurate). Prompts and time checks can also be placed in the chat. Unfortunately, ASL interpretation is not currently available.
Many writers who self-identify as neurodivergent (particularly those with ADHD and/or who are on the spectrum) return to my workshops again and again. My sessions include grounding, structure without rigidity, gentle prompts, predictable pacing and an atmosphere where participants can engage in the ways that work best for them (i.e. moving, doodling, pausing their cameras or taking breaks when needed). You never need to mask or perform “focus” here.
